Welcome to the TitanBorn Dev Diary, a series dedicated to giving the community a behind-the-scenes look into the process of creating a game from the perspective of the game developers.
In Dev Diary #17, we’ll tell you all about what we’ve been building for the past 2 few weeks:
- A New Perspective
- The Tedious Stuff
- Coming up next…
A New Perspective
Hey, what if we made our game 3d?, said someone in a meeting once.
Immediately, the game devs groaned with much displeasure. But they were doomed at that moment, for everyone liked the idea. So, having no way out, they set to their task and worked diligently.
Now, thanks to their hard work and many back-and-forths later (as one might expect), we are finally happy with the idea and have decided to keep it and bring it to the community.
Now we’re talking! That’s a proper arena. One almost feels like some futuristic gladiator fighting like this!
In any case, our thinking here was to introduce even more variety and tactical options. Our initial tests proved very promising and we can’t wait to ship it out in a demo update so our community can stress test it and give us some much needed feedback – but we’re pretty sure you’ll fall in love with it immediately.
The Tedious Stuff
Obviously, for everything to run smoothly, we needed to do a lot under the hood work with updating and maintenance. All of the systems we showcased up until now, even recently, got some loving touch from our devs:
- Optimized all assets for better performance for everybody
- Reworked and cleaned the menus. Now they are more user-friendlier
- Ported our assets to the new engine.
Looking clean and smooth, right?
Should anyone reading this know of any reason that this UI should not be joined with TitanBorn, speak now or forever hold your peace!
Seriously, we’d love to hear your feedback. In the meantime, we’ll get you more visuals to get an even better feel for what’s coming.
Coming up next…
We have plenty more to showcase in our Discord and on social media. In the meantime, keep playing the demo and giving us your feedback. That being said, here is what we plan to work on in the following two weeks:
- Get the gameplay in missions working
- Port all special moves with effects
- Add items stats
So we took a little while. What can we say, we’re a small team! Let us know if you’d like to come work for free
Until then,
Game on, Titans!
